This is a nice point on the khandala ghat overlooking the valley. Besides the scenic views of the hills &valley, one can also view the Pune Mumbai expressway from this point. The roadtrip of lonavla passes through western ghats, misty mountains, and cascading waterfalls, is what one needs to experience and wander during their holidays. The best time to visit lonavla is june to september. During these months, the hills become lively with fresh greenery, waterfalls begin to plunge dramatically, creating an environment that would make everyone fall in love with. This weather lets you enjoy the most vibrant activities like trekking, boating, hiking, and camping.
The winter season, which begins from November till February, is another favorable time to visit Lonavala and enjoy the cool weather. It is an ideal time to enjoy a bonfire with some hot snacks and tea, while you experience the beauty of nature.
Summers here begin from March to May, it can be a bit hot to tour in and around Lonavala. However, the nights are relatively cooler. The best time depends on favorable weather conditions and the preferences and experiences you seek.

If you want to enjoy a weekend ride or a small trip from Mumbai to the depth of Nature & see a creation made by the local people of the villages of Dahanu then the Aawali Dam situated at Dahanu Road about 80-90 km from Mumbai is a place to visit.
You can either come as a Solo rider, Biker’s gang, With Friends or with Family.
The time I visited the place was early morning 7 AM so that I could witness the Sunrise from the mountains & stare at the sun standing alone at the top of the Dam. The ride to Aswali dam is pretty rough as there are no firm roads to the place & you have to cross small village road filled with stones & pebbles. The Map also goes out of network as the place is quiet remote but you can trust the local people for directions. The trip is exciting as you pass through different scenes like Mountains, Beaches, Villages & finally arrive to the Dam.
Fun Activity at the dam: 1. Nature walk
2. Swimming
3. Chill out with friend’s
4. Chai time

It won’t be wrong if I call sahiyadri’s “my second home “as almost every weekend, I have been hiking somewhere in this mountain range. Though being a huge admirer of Sahyadri’s, somewhere my heart still belonged to the great himalaya. But, as soon as I did the Harichandra Fort Trek, something changed!! Sahyadri’s left an indelible mark on my heart at the very first moment my eyes met and feasted on the views from the fort. Sitting at Konkan kada and looking from the top towards the bottom of the huge rocky mountains made me afraid, I got goosebumps and my heart was beating faster. I was dead scared when I looked down and I was in a river of happiness when I looked up. I was like ‘woo thank God I am here’. Well, OMII isn’t your splendid therapist “Nature” has ways to leave you speechless? Definitely, it has!!

Kaldurg is an easy trek located near Palghar with a height of around 1500 feet. Though I have trekked up Kaldurg before, this time the monsoon was in full swing, and the experience was thrilling! Gusty winds, thick fog covering the mountains, and an overload of greenery around, making it a surreal and exciting adventure!
If you are lucky and there is no fog or clouds, the views from Kaldurg are fantastic! To the east of Kaldurg flows the Surya river that merges with the Vaitarna river further south closer to Tandulwadi fort.
